Why Choose Our Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training Certification Courses (YTTC) in India?
The 200, 300 and 500 hours Yoga Teacher Training Certification Course Programs in Goa and Dharamsala are certified by Yoga Alliance US and Yoga Alliance Professionals(Formerly Yoga Alliance UK), as they follow the guidelines designed for Yoga Instructor Training.
Core Objectives of the Teacher Training Courses
The Yoga Teacher Training Courses in India provide the students with practical training, methodology and experience to teach Yoga. These courses are about deepening your own practice, individuality and its skillful expression in teaching others. During the Teacher Training Course, you will also learn how to present your Yoga skills in a professional manner and how to turn it into a successful career.
In the context of learning proper alignment for each and every pose the right use of yoga props will be introduced during the practice. This removes the dullness (Tamas) and sharpens your techniques of yoga postures. It will make you aware of the contraindication and teach you to adapt according to the physical limitations, health condition and anatomical-physiological difference of the group of students you are exposed to during your teaching. At the same time you will be able to adjust their yoga postures by using your hands and body weight.
Our philosophy teacher has learnt Sanskrit and yoga philosophy from his childhood. He makes sure that you learn the correct Sanskrit names of Asanas and their pronunciation. This will boost your confidence and professionalism as a teacher in the world of yoga. We also assign a few hours for comparative yoga study which means you get introduced to different schools (South Indian and North Indian) and traditions of yoga such as Shivananda, Satyananda, Krishnamacharya, Iyengar, therapy yoga, restorative yoga and so on.
During the course students are encouraged to respect their pain limit and not to force and push themselves beyond it, rather use props to achieve correctness of the postural alignment. The body is a beautiful mechanism. Hence, yoga teaches you to love your body. Yoga enhances the sensitivity and awareness of physical body (Annamaykosha). When you are sensitive, aware, loving and respectful towards your body then it becomes flexible, strong and opens the door for all its mysteries.
Pain brings you closer to the body, but the purpose of yoga is to bring you closer to your inner most being.
The teaching of Ashtanga Vinyasa flow is based on the latest medical research in field of human musculoskeletal system, which states that any muscular stretch held less than thirty seconds has no significant outcome. Our ancient yogis were aware of the fact, so they suggested staying in a particular asana for 5-10 deep Ujjayi breath, which will take 30 to 40 seconds to perform.
On the other hand performing a magnitude of asanas in a sequence gives an effective deep stretch to the muscles from different angles without injury. It keeps the body warm and ready for going deeper into the pose.
In order to overcome the fatigue and recover from the intensity of practice students will practice restorative yoga classes once a week in the afternoons. Yoga props will be actively used in Restorative Classes under the guidance of a yoga teacher, who has had the training to use the props correctly.
You will practice the following sequences created spontaneously by the teacher :
- Sun salutations
- Standing asanas
- Sitting asanas
- Supine poses
- Prone poses
- Arm balances and other balancing poses
- Jump back
- Jump through
- Drop back
- Coming up from the back bends with the help of props.
You will learn during the course the art of making your own vinyasa flow which includes the practical and medical aspects of sequencing the asanas with a flow and synchronized breath. You will be asked to reflect on the different sequence of performing asanas for different physical and psychological ailments under the guidance of our yoga teachers who have long background of using yoga for treatment.
